I am totally obsessed with trash TV. Wait, do I use obsessed too often? I don’t care. I’m in love with trash TV. I’m watching Vanderpump Rules as we speak and may cry when they show Tom and Katie’s wedding ceremony. Just saying.
Why do we love reality TV so much? We as a society love this stuff! Don’t say you don’t. I know you watch the Kardashians or Pawn Stars. They’re the same thing for different target audiences!
We love reality TV and we love social media. What do these two things have in common? They’re both fake.
The worst thing you can do is get in the game of making comparisons.
Remember, people don’t post the negative things about their situations. Everyone’s life looks like sunshine and rainbows on social media. Keep in mind this just isn’t the case.
Normal people go through normal things, normal issues. The couple you idolize may be going through some hard times. The person you envy over their fabulous life of travel may be the loneliest person you know. Moral of the story, love your own life.
Your life is fabulous in its own way. Find the good in your life, your day, and stay away from comparing yourself to people or situations that may not be real.
Take home to mom: Stop playing the comparison game. You are only hurting yourself.
